Sometimes we need a spark of inspiration for writing prompts, and why not ask our friend ChatGPT or really an AI text editor for some creative ideas?
Midjourney Photo Prompt Formula
Here is the basic prompt structure I use for photos.
So the idea is to take this structure and create a formula for ChatGPT to use to generate prompts.
This is the formula I came up with based on the prompt structure:
Content type = photograph
Description = subject + adjective or engaged in an action scene + background context
Style = lighting (time of day + type of lighting)
Composition = camera view (lens type + brand) and aspect ratio
So using this breakdown, we need to write the formula in a natural language prompt.
This Is The Midjourney Photo Formula:
A photograph of a [subject] [engaged in an action scene] with [background context], during [time of day] with [type of lighting] and shot with a [type of lens] using [name of lens] — ar 16:9
How To Use The Image Formula In ChatGPT
Here are 3 easy steps to using this formula in ChatGPT or chat GPT-4:
First, make sure chatGPT understands the ‘Midjourney Photo prompt formula’
2. Then, ask it to use the formula to generate a prompt based on a subject.
3. Finally, copy the prompt and paste it into Midjourney… amazing
Midjourney Art Prompt Formula
Let’s create a formula that works with art/illustrations
Content type = illustration
Description = subject + adjective or engaged in an action scene + background context
Style = style of art
Composition = perspective and aspect ratio
Now we write the formula in a natural language prompt.
And This Is The Midjourney Art Formula:
An illustration of a [subject] [engaged in an action scene] with [background context], in the style of [art style], viewed from [perspective] — ar 3:2
How To Use The Art Formula In ChatGPT
Here are 3 easy steps to using this formula in ChatGPT or chat GPT-4:
First, make sure chatGPT understands the ‘Midjourney Art prompt formula’
2. Then, ask it to use the formula to generate a prompt based on a subject.
3. Finally, copy the prompt and paste it into Midjourney… cool right?
Final Thoughts
Once ChatGPT writes the output, you can modify the prompt, ask ChatGPT to elaborate on the prompt, or use it for inspiration to write your own, the possibilities are endless.
